An account executive (AE) is a quota-carrying salesperson who owns deals from qualified opportunity to signed contract. In B2B SaaS, AEs run discovery, demos, proposals and negotiation, usually working meetings sourced by SDRs, BDRs or marketing.
Account-Based Marketing (ABM)
Account-based marketing (ABM) is a B2B strategy in which marketing and sales jointly select specific high-value accounts and run coordinated, personalized campaigns aimed at the people inside those accounts, rather than generating broad lead volume.
Activation Rate
Activation rate is the percentage of new signups who reach a defined milestone that shows they have experienced the product's core value, such as sending a first campaign or inviting a teammate. It is a leading indicator of retention and paid conversion.

Annual recurring revenue (ARR) is the yearly value of all active recurring subscription contracts at a point in time. It excludes one-time fees and is the standard headline metric for SaaS companies, often calculated as MRR times 12.

BANT is a sales qualification framework that checks four things about a prospect: Budget, Authority, Need and Timeline. Dating back to the 1950s, it helps sellers decide quickly whether an opportunity is worth pursuing.
Beachhead Market
A beachhead market is a small, well-defined segment that a company sets out to win completely before expanding into neighboring segments. Dominating it creates references, word of mouth and a base of revenue that make the next market easier to enter.
BIMI
BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) is an email specification that lets a domain display its logo next to authenticated messages in supporting inboxes. It requires DMARC at enforcement and, at Gmail, a verified mark certificate.
Bootstrapping

The CAN-SPAM Act is the 2003 US federal law that sets rules for commercial email, including honest headers and subject lines, a working opt-out, and a valid physical postal address. It applies to business-to-business email and is enforced by the FTC.
CASL
CASL, Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation, is the federal law that has regulated commercial electronic messages since July 1, 2014. It requires consent before sending, sender identification and a working unsubscribe mechanism, and it is one of the strictest email marketing laws in the world.
Catch-All Email Address
A catch-all email address is a mailbox configured to receive every message sent to a domain for which no matching user exists, so the domain's mail server accepts mail for any address rather than rejecting unknown recipients.

Churn Rate
Churn rate is the percentage of customers, or of recurring revenue, that a company loses over a given period. In SaaS it is usually measured monthly or annually and is one of the main drivers of customer lifetime value and long-term growth.
Click-Through Rate (CTR)
Click-through rate (CTR) is the percentage of recipients or viewers who click a link in an email, ad or page. In email it is usually unique clicks divided by delivered emails; a related metric, click-to-open rate, divides clicks by opens.
Cold Email
A cold email is an unsolicited, one-to-one business email sent to someone who has no prior relationship with the sender, usually to start a sales, partnership or hiring conversation. It is legal in many countries when it is relevant, honest and easy to opt out of.
Cold Outreach
Cold outreach is contacting potential customers, partners or hires who have had no prior interaction with you, using channels such as email, phone or social messages. It is the opposite of inbound, where the prospect makes the first move.
Competitive Landscape
The competitive landscape is the full set of alternatives a buyer could choose instead of your product, including direct competitors, indirect substitutes, internal tools and doing nothing, together with how each is positioned, priced and perceived.
